Condylox, your personal surgeon
Condylox (podofilox) is the first ever FDA approved gel to remove certain types of external warts around the genital and rectal area. It is not suitable for treating warts inside the vagina, but there are no restrictions for wart of the genitals and rectum. Just keep the gel away from the eyes and mucous membranes, such as the inside of mouth, vagina or rectum.
Condylox primary effect is realized by destroying the infected skin tissues. Unlike Aldara which affects the immune system and encourages the immune system to get rid of warts permanently, Condylox may fail to prevent warts from reappearing. Podofilox treats the warts as they are, in their manifest externality, while the underlying cause is left out of the equation.
The cream is usually applied in a three to four week treatment, and if you stop condylox treatment prematurely, the warts may likely come back. As you can see, Condylox is not a real cure for genital warts. It will not protect you from future outbreaks. It’s more like having a personal surgeon in the house who can treat a special kind of warts very well but that’s all.
If you have allergy to Podofilox, peeling or cracked skin or any kind of tissue damage around the area of treatment, you should not use Condylox. A careful medical history should be taken prior to prescribing this medication. Condylox is available with prescription only as topical gel or solution, but you can purchase it online if you want. Our drug store also offers Condylox without prescription.
